Isdal woman Part I - facts, dreams, evidence and the number 18

Believe it or not, my nightmares filled with the agony of dead people have stopped after two noticeable instances.
First, I had a dream where I saw a females emotional pain and suffering in one of those "exploding" mind transfers I described earlier ("I see dead people"). The dream differed from the other ones before it in that her memories were, after the transfer, laid out like bundles of items before me on a pale white stone floor. The bundles were formed of clothes, personal belongings, jewellery, pictures, diaries, and other stuff I did not see clearly but felt I knew and understood regardless. The bundles were numerous and sized like footballs. I'm guessing 20+ bundles. They were not laying still, but was moving slightly and in an erratic, patternless and unpredictable way, but all of a sudden they changed appearance from "bundles" to the heads of all the dead people I had dreamt about before, and rapidly formed the letters one and eight. 18 (don't ask. Because I have no idea).

Secondly, -about one week after the last nightmare (woman and 18), by pure chance, I read a news article on a website (www.nrk.no) that was about a mystery death that took place in 1970. I had never heard of it before (happened before I was born), but I was intrigued to read about a woman that was found faceless (burnt) in a desolate place in a valley in Norway. Of course the location was "at the entrance of the Valley of Death" (named so because of its infamy regarding skiers getting lost out there in the snow). This is what I now know is called "the mystery of the Isdal woman".

As i mentioned before (I see dead people), I had a feeling I owed all the dead people to tell their stories. Like it was delivered, for me to bring on. Of course I couldn't, cause I had no way of delivering any story other than describing my dreams. But after i discovered this Isdal-case, I guess I started trying to figure things out just in case I am supposed to help laying this ghost to rest. Not believing in ghosts, I was a bit surprised that my recurring nightmares seem to have stopped after I delved into the rabbit hole looking for whatever this lady, -maybe the same lady i met in a dream, is hiding. Or wants to tell.

Isdal woman

You would have to read all about this (especially the more fantastic theories) somewhere else. But in very short terms, the Isdal Woman is what the female found dead was called for lack of any identifying finds. "Isdalen", being the place she was found (Isdalen = "Ice Valley"). Her belongings had been deliberately anonymized. Tags on clothes removed. Names on prescription drugs scraped off tubes. She had travelled to Norway on two separate occasions in 1970, and she used different named on most hotels she had stayed at. Police uncovered wig(s) and eyeglasses with fake glass in suitcases left at a depository on a train station in Bergen, believed to belong to her. None of these things turned out to be traceable to her actual identity.

Police concluded it was suicide, but popular opinion and rumour would have that it was far more sinister than that. Most likely a spy that had been "taken care of". Of course it was all covered up by secret intelligence services.

My own investigation

At first I was very curious to turn my investigative brains onto figuring all of this out. Witnesses had described her as being "exotic looking". "like a movie star". Maybe from (middle) east, Asia or southern Europe(!). And may I add a big No. None of the witnesses said she looked "south American". It was the dentist that concluded she most likely had received dental care using methods normal only in (middle) Eastern countries, Asia and south America. More precisely this was due to the "preformed gold crown fillings" she had on many teeth. The dentist tried for years to reach out to his dental network all around the world without anyone being able to help.

She was described as being "used to travel", "isolated", "secretive" (because she moved furniture in a hotel room), and as having a foul and / or strange smell possibly covered by heavy perfumes.

Fake passport?
She did (as far as I understand) have a single (fake) passport. I believe it could have been from Belgium, but only because a transcript in the police files state: "Message from Interpol Brussels (Belgium): "In reply to your telex from 4th of December, you are notified the description of the corpse has not led to identification of said corpse. Please send us exact passport number, date of Issuance, and place of issuance, identity on the passports rightful owner. A person named Lorch, first name Finella does not exist in our archives and is also not known by the foreign police (immigration authorities). We ask to be informed if any development in the case".

I have seen no factual or evidence based reports of any passport. If there was a passport, I would assume, those details would have been already sent to Interpol. I would also assume a fake passport of 1970 would have a plethora of possible forensic investigative clues to it. I have not found any solid proof or evidence that any passport was found linked to the Isdal woman.

I think (until I see any evidence of anything else) it is a common misconception and mixup of the unscientific word "Identity" and the actual physical item "Passport". If someone says "She had eight different identities", a reporter could misinterpret that to mean "she had eight fake passports". Could also just be popular rumours mixing this up, but I feel even the most serious news agencies are prone to skip a bit and invent in the spaces between actual proven facts and common tongue. Show me eight passports with her pictures and all the different names, and Ill reconsider. Please remember you you did not need a passport to travel domestically in Norway either by train or by plane in 1970. You would just order a ticket, and state whatever name you liked. That name would show up on the receipt. I don't think crossing borders by train would only be possible using a passport in 1970, but I could be wrong.
Please also consider this: If there were a passport. Fake or not, why would we not have an actual picture of this woman? Disguised or not? I don't think there is a passport. I think investigators assume there must have been one, but if they found one I am pretty sure they are holding back or it is entirely / partly destroyed by fire or if found in the suitcases, by scraping off / destruction of any identifying markings like the rest of her belongings.

I am kind of baffled that her passport would not have been recorded at some stage (in any of the countries she travelled). It could have been recorded, and the name could have been Lorch, country Belgium, and since this person is not found by Interpol, that could be the reason police thinks she had a fake one.

If one can trust the NRK story being laid out these days, there is a mention of the passport in an article describing the scene where body was found. (https://www.nrk.no/dokumentar/xl/gaten-i-isdalen-1.12987220) It says:

"In the rocky formation and the wet November tall grass around, they uncover burnt remnants of items the woman brought with her to the scene. Remnant of clothing, umbrella and carrying equipment. Two molten plastic bottles. One half (liter) bottle of "Vinmonopolets" (Only store selling stronger alcohol in Norway) "Klosterlikør" (Liqueur of some 30-40% alcohol), one almost destroyed plastic cover that could have come from a passport, and many other things"

Had the passport been inside that plastic cover, it would have partially survived the fire. It could have been removed by someone (including Isdal woman) and burned prior to her death, or it could have been removed from the scene either prior to the fire or after the discovery of the body. In any event, police probably assumes the passport is lost in the fire. Maybe the deliberate burning of the passport strengthens the believe that Isdal woman committed suicide and "removed any trace" of herself.

Disguise
I have not seen any photos of the actual complete contents of the suitcases linked to Isdal Woman (but I have asked the broadcaster currently reviewing this case to please make them public if they have them), so I can not say how many wigs there were if at all plural. I cant rule out the same lack of precision as I suspect regarding Passports / Identity could also be the case regarding Wig / Wigs. People assume and interpret too much some times.

And I don't blame them: One single fingerprint right in the middle of one of the glasses on a pair of sunglasses found in the suitcase is said to belong to Isdal woman. I am surprised anyone would touch their own sunglasses in this way. But I am equally surprised her fingerprints (all ten of them actually) are intact after an "explosive intense fire".
From the images I have seen, Her fingers look like they are all charred, split, fleshy sticks only remotely resembling fingers. Pictures could lie of course. For all I know her fingertips were intact.

One of the reporters at NRK currently working on this case (I have exchanged emails) assures me there was wig. And he assures me the skull from Isdal woman had hair (ruling out an actual need for wig), because there was still a small amount of hair on the back of the skull where she also had a hairband wrapping up a ponytail that was not burned away by fire.

Her language
One witness remembers getting "five kroner" as a tip (Guesstimated value today would be some 15 USD). Another witness claims he heard her speak in German, saying (to a man (that I have not been able to find out if anyone else has ever spoke of or could have witnessed) across a street or across a hallway) "Ich komme bald", meaning, .I'm coming soon". Another witness again said he heard her speaking what he thought was her primary language, and that "It sounded so strange / funny I almost laughed" (quoted from memory). That should exclude any European language. Any Germanic sounding language, any English, and any Russian. I could not say, but I personally would find any middle eastern tongue, including some Asian, to be that kind of strange / unfamiliar. And yes, Im a native Norwegian.

The first time I heard some Israeli politician, speaking, I thought it was completely weird. Same is true for Egyptian, Arabic, and any language consisting of what I would call throat based sounds. To mimic some of these languages, I would have to make sounds I normally only make when cleaning my throat and preparing to spit (I truly don't mean any disrespect. I'm simply trying to explain this in my limited vocabulary).
I don't find any of the South or Central / Middle American languages this strange. Only similarly strange languages would be Thai / Asian languages, but they are not as "strange" as any "throat based" language is. Also, Thai, Vietnamese and the likes should have been familiar because of the Vietnam War. Japanese and Chinese should be familiar after WWII.

I would bet you its a 90% chance the Isdal woman spoke Arabic, Hindu, Pashtu, Dahri, Hebrew, or any language used in UAE, Saudi Arabia, Libya, Iran, Iraq, Syrian, Palestine, Israel, Jordan, Egypt and probably India / Pakistan. Had it been even remotely possible, I would say she could have spoken Coptic ;)
She also spoke German (fluently I think, or else she would not take on a Dutch / Belgian persona), and English. Now the witness accounts I have read, all say she spoke poor English. She had trouble using it to make herself understood. All in all, the woman spoke (as far as I have been able to conclude from actual witness accounts from the time and from evidence and testimony) One language X ( Ill call it Arabic for now), German (maybe Dutch) and poor English. No info I have found says she spoke French. She visited France, but that doesn't mean she spoke French.

Godlike creature-effect
Many witnesses to this day state something along the lines of: she was "so special they never could forget her". Or "very beautiful". Or "I did wish I could be like her". Admiration. Martyrdom-like emotional memories. I am thinking this is not rare in cases where such mystery is later being revealed. I am pretty sure most of the witnesses would not remember her at all today if she had just left and not turned up dead.

Ethnicity
I found (and find) it so hard to understand how witnesses could confuse her ethnicity to such an extent that they did. To me, an Asian is very different from a middle easterner or from an eastern European looking woman. I guess Norway in the 1960s - 70s was maybe not very familiar with foreign / eastern ethnicity's at all. Eastern Europe was maybe somewhat exotic, and I am not even sure what was meant by "eastern European". Again I am guessing the mixture of actual physical appearance and the confusion because of her "name", fake passport (identities) and maybe whatever second languages she might have had, could make someone conclude she had to be more European than she was. But she could of course have been exactly as mystic as she is described to be. Could even be she had one parent from middle east and one from Europe.

Silver spoons
Silver spoons (nobody seems to know how many or how valuable) was supposed to have been found in her suitcases. One spoon was also supposedly found where the body was found. They had once had a hallmark or an insignia / stamp / crest, that had been filed off. I hope NRK releases images of those spoons if they have them. They could link her to a country or region, or they could just make it possible to rule out a lot of theories.
A rogue of freshly formed nation might not have ties to "Swiss banks" and could possibly be using silver spoons as currency and giving it ti an agent. A real Russian spy would probably not need silver spoons as currency.
A woman fleeing from something could also bring her silver. A thief would certainly bring it.

It all depends on the spoon itself. Silver was at a high in the late 60s, and probably was easy to melt in the forests of Bergen / Isdalen (without anyone taking notice) to bring back silver lumps one could sell to any "pawn shop" either in Bergen or Stavanger. But you would need to try and limit the sales to one sale pr. shop? How much silver could a Pawn shop owner buy without notifying authorities in 1979? Did the police even look for such a Pawn shop? Either for spoons or for records of "silver-selling-foreign-language-ladies"?

If she did carry silver spoons in her suitcases, they could be part of a cover story. She did fill in an immigration form on one of her entries to Norway, stating she was "antiques dealer". If spoons were part of a cover as a travelling antiques dealer, they would probably not have been filed to make them untraceable until after her death.

If one single spoon was found among the remnants of her body, One can not rule out that she was up there to melt silver. Silver would almost be the dumbest thing to bring up there, if you did not want to be connected to the suitcases after taking your own life.
It could have been planted. Just like the fingerprints on the sunglasses could have been planted in the suitcase. After all. If you are so careful to remove your identiry from your luggage, and as calculating as she was described / should have been if she was a trained chameleon. Would you put your fingers and your fingerprints all over your sunglasses? Would anyone touch their own sunglasses it a manner corresponding to the fingerprints found? In the middle of the glass? Clean and clear?

Either way, the silver is important.

DNA
Today, NRK published the latest video in their series showing how DNA has been extracted from Isdal woman's spleen and liver. The video doesn't say much, but it is clear that they have found a "almost complete DNA sample" from both sources. They will send the material to a registry, and I guess a search for resembling profiles could be made.
In the same video, two forensic investigators from Kripos explain that they are hopeful they will be able to extract DNA from teeth, and that they are also hopeful they can make an Isotope analysis to see if it is possible to say anything meaningful regarding the origin of the Isdal woman. They will team up with specialists on migration and tho Universities that has the Isotopic analysis expertise.

Two-women - double-cross triple agent mega theory

In any event. Coupling the fact that witnesses could not say if she was eastern European or Asian, and the fact that the original Police statement, including the sketch they made based on the information of the skull / corpse, (and the written description found in forms submitted to Interpol) described the corpse as having "a small and round face", whilst the witnesses today, represented by a brand new sketch by Missal actually depicts a "long and narrow face", I immediately set out to fill the gaps in the mega-plot where one woman was chasing another around in Norway. One was a "rogue spy" or a spy from an unorganized nation or group, and the other was Norwegian counter intelligence, American contractor, Western Germany connected (if "rogue spy" was RAF / B-M).
This double-woman theory would lead to a very large number of sightings. Many, many hotels visited. Many names. Conflicting descriptions of the woman. And is very fantastic.

Ill continue this theory in a separate post :)
